Better Volleys

Some players just take a big swing at a volley. Maybe they have seen the pros hitting volleys like that. They may do that once in awhile but most of their volleys are short and compact. There is no time to swing at a volley for one thing. If you are worried about power rest assured one can still put plenty of pace on a compact volley. The second point is that there is far fewer errors with a compact volley. Do this to improve on the volley. Choke up on the racquet with your hands behind the strings. Have someone feed you some balls. Now volley. Now as you start to volley you get the sensation of punching the volley and not swinging at it. Then grab the racquet by the handle and do the same thing. It should be short and compact. All the great volleyers at the pro level keep it short and simple.

Confidence in the game of Tennis

Confidence pretty much starts in the head. The more a person wins the more his or her confidence builds. Tennis takes alot of practice and with that a persons confidence increases. Work hard on every part of your game. The results may not come right away. It will show in small ways. Self esteem counts for alot. If your social life is good it will certainly show up on the tennis court. With self esteem that person will put out alot more effort on the court. Even when you loose you don't feel so bad.

The Ghias from 1959 to 1974.

This is the type 144. It has the 'wide nostril'. The fresh-air vent cutouts in the nose are alot larger. The front fenders are different. The headlight are raised. The wheel-arches are reprofiled. The cutouts sweep back towards the rear. The tail lights are leaf-shaped. It was introduced in August 1959 as a '1960' model.

The 57 to 59 Ghia

This is the type 141 Ghia cabriolet. It has the same features as the Type 143.

Different Ghias

Alot of people think that Ghias are all alike. Actually their are several types of the Type 1 Karmann Ghia. For example their is the type 143. This the original Karmann Ghia coupe. It was made between August 1955 and July 1959. You can tell by its small fresh air vent 'nostrils' and droop-snout fenders. The headlights are positioned slightly lower on the bodywork. The tail lights are small and oblong.

Ghia Style

It was Ghia's Luigi Segre and team that put the styling together. The car had good balance of proportion. Who would have that the Karmann-bodied VW was a rear-engined machine.

Fast Ghias

Certainly a stock ghia would not be very fast. The Karmann Ghia weighed some 120 pounds more than the Beetle of the time. But because of the improved aerodynamics it gave the car real high-speed cruisability. The handling was very good too.

Ghias Today

The Ghias had been successful as far as the styling that their were many arguments as to who would take the credit. It was the Italians who put the body stlye on the car. Very cool design.

Ghias

Their was actually a car that was the Ghia's great uncle. This was the Beetle 'streamliner' that was built by Ferdinand Porsche in 1939. It was the 60K10.
